Solar system technology is very easy to understand:
- The sunlight is the energy source that strikes the solar panels.
- The Solar panels generate DC electricity, and from the solar panels, energy goes to the inverter where it changes from DC electricity into AC electricity that you can use.
The system is connected to the utility grid. The local utility grid serves as the energy storage and backup for the Solar Power you generate. When the electricity generated from the solar system exceeds the amount of energy used, the meter spins backwards, banking credit for you.
- On the other hand, when the energy needed exceeds the amount of energy generated by the solar system, the power needed will be drawn from the utility grid.
- It is very important to properly size the Solar System to cover electricity usage in order to eliminate electric bill for the life of the solar system.
